able to make a change that involves the thing that we are passionate about, in my case making other happy and bringing a smile to their faces. The most difficult part of the project was that we did not have time to work on it during class because we would easily forget that we had another project that was also important. This made me learn about myself about doing a self-direct project is that I constantly need to keep reminding myself that I have a project that is not going to have time to work in class. One of the major things was keeping up with the blog post because I would constantly forget about doing them. I would keep repeating to my self that I would do them later and I would be focusing on other things. Due to the fact that this project is self-learning I feel like I could do better in the way that I need to be organized and need to keep reminders, so that when I enter collage I will be able to be on track and not be panicking before its due. In these 2 years I could improve my self-direct skills before entering the collage environment by being organized, is a major kill.This project made me have a deeper understanding about the hunger situation happening in the USA. Most people think because we have the food available very easily everyone is eating, but in reality they are not eating because they have low incomes, which makes it hard for them to buy the necessary food a person needs to be healthy. If anybody is interested on volunteering at a food pantry, but does not know where to find one you could go to the Santa Maria Urban Ministry, there you could volunteer or donate food for the ones in need, if you do not have time to volunteer. This will benefit many people. Just think the fact that you are helping others and bringing them a simile is the greatest accomplishment person can have.

30 days left!

I am feeling pretty confident about presenting in front of 50 students. I feel this way because I feel conformable to talk in front of my classmates because I have known them all for a long time. Additionally, my group and I are prepared to take on this presentation. This project doing out of school was pretty difficult because we were a group of 4 and for us it was hard communicating out of school. We had different schedules and we were not able to reach one another because someone was always busy doing something. Due to this we were not able to keep up with our due dates, so we had to constantly change them. This made it difficult on us because we had to change our schedules. From this project the biggest take away I took was that I am a pretty good leader. This project has helped me step out of my comfort zone, which is usually staying quiet and not speaking my mind. With the project I was able to give my opinions on what we should and should not be doing. Which things we should make our priorities first than others.

Update Time!

So far in our Genius Project is going well just like we planned it. The only struggle we have at the moment, is that we need to set up a time we need to volunteer at the food pantry because everyone had a lot on their plates. One of the biggest success in our Genius Project, personally I think it would be bringing a smile to a person in need. That is a major success for me because I love making people smile or laugh. One of the biggest struggle we have is getting organized on our presentation and getting volunteering hours in. I am feeling pretty confident about the amount of work I have left because we are on track to finish our presentation and that is the final step to finish our project. This is just the right amount of work because I find it easy because its something I am passionate about it. When I am passionate about something I find things easy because I love doing it.

Study groups

Members of 100 Strong

The student groups that we interviewed during the study trip were 100 strong and Greening the Greeks. They were friendly and willing to answer the questions about their student groups. The mission for 100 strong was to mentor girls in high school or 8th grade, to feel as if they shouldn't be let down while they are trying to succeed in a world where the male is dominate. The mission for Greening the Geeks is to find new ways of keeping their campus clean and programs that educate the people about the environment. The student groups told us that it is important to explore our passions and get involve in our community because you are able to help out others about the situation that is going on. Also, it is the community that you are living in and your community should feel safe and welcoming to anybody. The way that they inspired me to take my passion and make an impact on my community is that I love helping others and bringing a smile to every ones face, so why not help out those in need and volunteer at a food pantry. Where I will be able to see people being happy because they are getting the necessaries that they need but can not afford. Knowing that I am apart of something that may impact someones life in a big way, just by doing something simple. The study groups made seem that no matter how big or not that well known your club maybe, if the people in them are passionate about it then in someway you will make a difference.

Public Pitch

What went well abut the public pitch was that we talked about everything and I feel that we were able to explain everything very well. What didn't go well is that were a little disorganized towards the end. The work that we put into preparing for our pitch doesn't reflect the outcome because with the outcome I am hoping that we are more well organized. 

I think that K'la's pitch went really well because she explained everything very well and was clear with her points. She spoke clear and was really good at proving her points. She incorporated multimedia in doing a PowerPoint and showing images recent statistics.

Introduction

What I am excited about is that will be able to help the people in need. I will give back to my community. What I am excited about as I think about the Genius project is that its a way to involve my passions and being able to focus on that and at the same time being able to help out others and my community. Some of the difficulties that i anticipate are not being able to meet the deadlines that we will have and falling behind. I am feeling pretty confident on the public speech. To prepare my group and I have reviewed the information that we have gathered and put it in a Prezi. Where we included the main ideas and our mission, with images.
